Hello Butterfly Supporters,

The pace has not slowed at all and in fact maybe only increased since last week but the end is in sight. The grounds are all ready. The playground equipment from the old site has been moved over and has a new paint job. The perimeter wall is now been increased in height for the  safety of the little ones. The garden area has been plowed and will be seeded with vegetables; potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, and corn.
The exterior of the building is completely repainted including all window frames and the gate.  Some amazing murals have been designed by travelers who had artistic talent. All of the rooms are complete on the interior, with the exception of the large room on the top floor that is designated for creative play, drama, singing, dance and music. It has been on hold because of the ongoing saga with the roof. Flooring and plumbing work will be the last pieces to fall into place.
The repair of the roof is now underway but we had to take down two false ceilings on the inside to get a good look at the problem with where the leaks were really coming from. The landlord, Kishor, has been supportive and now the work can go ahead and be fixed properly. The room will eventually be opened up to have the fantastic beams exposed and allow better light and air flow.

The last week there has been this amazing crew of foreign volunteers who have really been dedicated and given so much to the project. One girl, Jenni, came everyday for 9 days!
They were a great bunch to work with and most had the opportunity to go and visit the children at the old site to really see and experience who they were helping. Many of the volunteers said that this was a highlight of their trip and such a great project to be a part of!
Govinda, ever tireless, has been on site for most of each day and is such a positive soul! He is joking, working along beside us, managing the local skilled labour and always available for me to bend his ear about this or that!
